It’s down to the final hours of early voting for next week’s primary elections.

Early voting ends Friday afternoon, after that, voters will have to wait until election day, Tuesday, May 22, to cast their ballots.

Poll hours and locations vary from county to county. For example, Forsyth County closes its polls at 5 p.m. In Clayton County, you can vote until 7 p.m.

Check with local elections office for the most current information about when and where to cast an early ballot.

Voters have a number of decisions to make, no matter where in the region they live — see what’s on your ballot here.

All members of the state legislature are up for re-election, and some have to make it past primary challenges.

Voters will also pick the candidates for a number of statewide offices: attorney general, secretary of state, lieutenant governor, insurance commissioner.

The big race is for governor. Seven candidates are still vying for their party’s nomination. “Morning Edition’s” Denis O’Hayer interviewed them all. You can listen to those here.

These are partisan primaries. So, voters won’t be able to participate in the most high-profile races unless they select Republican or Democratic ballot.

That’s the same ballot they’ll have to use in the runoffs. Those are July 24. The general election is Nov. 6.
