A List Of Closings Thursday In Metro Atlanta

Wintry weather swept into metro Atlanta on Tuesday night, bringing snow, ice and freezing temperatures to the area. Many schools and offices closed Wednesday due to weather conditions. Some have decided to remain closed another day. Others say they are watching the situation.

Government

• Georgia Gov. Nathan Deal said state government offices will remain closed Thursday in 83 of the state’s 159 counties. Only essential employees will report to work.
• City of Atlanta government office and the Municipal Court of Atlanta will be closed Thursday.  Only essential and emergency personnel should report to work.
• DeKalb County government offices, courts
• Fulton County government offices

General Assembly

• State Senate will convene at 1:30 p.m. Thursday.
• State House convenes at 2 p.m. Thursday.

Transportation

• Xpress transit services operated by the State Road and Tollway Authority (SRTA) will remain suspended Thursday due to severe weather conditions.
• MARTA rail service will resume at 6 a.m. Thursday and run on a modified weekend schedule. Limited bus service will begin at 6 a.m.
• CobbLinc will resume running its routes at noon Thursday. CobbLinc’s Express service will not run Thursday, but paratransit and local buses will run a regular schedule once the system restarts.
