Common Core: A Primer on the Curriculum, and the Debate About It, from WABE's Martha Dalton

  On May 17 and 18, Georgia Republicans will gather in Athens for their state convention.  While much of the buzz will center on a crowded Republican U.S. Senate primary field, there will likely also be some debate about the Common Core Curriculum, a new set of standards for students.  Georgia has joined most other states in adopting Common Core, but some state Republicans strongly oppose it.  WABE's Martha Dalton gave a Common Core primer to "All Things Considered" host Denis O'Hayer.   And you can click here for a rundown of frequently-asked questions about Common Core.
