- Expanded Version
On Friday, November 16th, Georgia Governor Nathan Deal informed Federal officials that Georgia would not set up its own healthcare insurance exchange. That's an online site where people who are having trouble affording healthcare coverage can choose among several plans, set up under the President's healthcare reform act. The Governor's decision means that the Federal government will now set up an exchange for Georgia. Shortly after the Governor announced his decision, WABE's Denis O'Hayer interviewed the Governor's spokesman, Brian Robinson, and Tim Sweeney, director of health policy at the Georgia Budget and Policy Institute.
