Savannah Remains a Popular Spot for Tourists
Savannah was established in 1733, which makes it the oldest city in Georgia.
Tourism remains a major economic factor, as Savannah hosted more than 12-million people in 2011, according to the Savannah Area Convention and Visitors Bureau.
Savannah is the birthplace of Juliette Gordon Low, the founder of the Girl Scouts. It's also the home of the Georgia Historical Society, Telfair Academy of Arts and Sciences and the First African Baptist Church.
