Fahamu Pecou is a visual artist whose work has been featured in a number of exhibitions around the world. He is also a father. In the StoryCorps booth, Fahamu told his 11 year old daughter, Oji Nyasa, and 5 year old son, Ngozi, about the role family plays in his work.

Pecou's art has appeared in exhibitions in New York, Paris and Switzerland. This story was recorded in partnership with Burnaway, a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing critical coverage and dialogue about arts in Atlanta, as well as the Atlanta History Center, which hosts Atlanta’s StoryCorps booth
