Former president of Random House delivers keynote address
Atlanta, Ga – The Forth Annual Decatur Book Festival opens this evening with a keynote address by Sir Harold Evans. Sir Harold has served as editor of London's The Sunday Times and president and publisher of Random House. He's the author of many critically acclaimed books, including They Made America: From the Steam Engine to the Search Engine, which was the basis of a four-part documentary on PBS. In 2004, Evans was knighted for his contributions to the field of journalism.
Sir Harold spoke to WABE's Lois Reitzes about his keynote address, titled The Vital Future of the Printed Word, and the anxieties of writers, publishers and book sellers the world over.
