Atlanta, GA – Today local companies and colleges are helping in relief efforts for the country of Haiti.
Publix and Home Depot Charities both announced donations of 1-hundred-thousand dollars.

Jaymee Freeman is a member of Georgia State's women's volleyball team.
The freshman says they wanted to do something to help:
((our goal was 250 dollars we actually got a thousand and that was really good))
Just a few miles away, Clark Atlanta's president Dr. Carlton Brown is leading a community forum on Haitian Relief:
((we have members of the Haitian community in relief efforts))
Spelman students and the Morehouse School of Medicine are also raising money.
And tonight Georgia Tech students will hold a vigil outside the student union center.
