Delta, AirTran Not Inspecting 737s

– Atlanta's two biggest airlines say they're not conducting extra safety checks on their Boeing 737 aircraft.

A scare Friday on a Southwest flight prompted concerns over metal fatigue on certain model 737s.

Neither Delta nor AirTran operate the 737 “300's” — the aircraft involved in the Southwest scare.

Of domestic airlines, Southwest operates the most 737-300s, followed by Continental and United at approximately 30 each.

American Airlines is the only other domestic carrier operating the 300 version, and it only flies one.*
