Darling! City Café Meets Auntie Mame

Since the release of the 1955 novel Auntie Mame, the title character of author Patrick Dennis’ book has been portrayed in stage and screen versions of the story by the likes of Rosalind Russell, Angela Lansbury and Lucille Ball.  As of this week, you can add to that list, Topher Payne

Needless to say, the outgoing, vivacious, larger-than-life Mame Dennis has never looked nor sounded the way she does in Process Theater’s production.  Actor Topher Payne and director Barbara Cole Uterhardt spoke to us about this offbeat staging of the Jerome Lawrence and Robert E. Lee Broadway hit.

Process Theater’s production of Auntie Mame opens this Saturday, April 14th at OnStage Atlanta. Tickets are available here.
