From “Bearing the Unbearable” Comes Great Beauty

Impressive works of art can be created under even the most difficult circumstances. That’s one of the messages of an exhibit at the William Breman Jewish Heritage and Holocaust Museum.

“The Art of Gaman” showcases the work of Japanese-Americans detained at internment camps on American soil during World War II. Host John Lemley recently visited the Breman for a tour with executive director Aaron Berger, who explained how American detention of people of Japanese descent came about.
