Atlanta Mounted Patrol

Officer Eric Pate has worked as part of Atlanta Police Department’s mounted patrol for the past five of his 20 years as an officer. His horse, Blue, is a 14-year-old Hanoverian donated by the Georgia Tech equestrian team. Each mounted patrol officer is responsible for the total care of own horse, including feeding and bathing, and each horse and rider undergo intensive training together to prepare them for just about anything they may encounter.
