Georgia’s Ballot Access Laws Challenged: A Talk with the Attorney Bringing the Federal Suit
For many years, when Georgians voted for President of the United States, there were two choices on the ballot: a Democratic candidate and a Republican candidate. In recent election cycles, the Libertarian candidate has sometimes made it, too. But two smaller parties, the Green Party and the Constitution Party, charge that Georgia’s ballot laws are so restrictive, they’re unconstitutional. The two parties have filed suit in Federal District Court in Atlanta. WABE’s Denis O’Hayer spoke with the plaintiffs’ attorney, Mike Raffauf.
