National Puppet Slam 2012 at Center for Puppetry Arts

We’re all somewhat familiar with the idea of a poetry slam, but have you ever heard of a puppet slam?  Well this weekend, the Center for Puppetry Arts will be hosting the National Puppet Slam.  It’s an invitational performance featuring some of the best short form puppet pieces from all around the country.  To find out more about this year’s show, we sat down with coordinator Beau Brown, and one of the featured puppeteers, Gregg Van Laningham.  Our first question to Beau was the one on everybody’s mind – what is a puppet slam?
