New Website Provides Comprensive Information for Georgia Cancer Patients
A new website provides information on Georgia clinical trials for cancer patients and a lot more.
The Georgia Center for Oncology Research and Education, or CORE, has pulled together information about cancer doctors, cancer treatments and hospitals. It also has the latest on clinical trials and community resources to help patients learn more about their disease and decide what’s best for them.
CORE President Nancy Paris says, “We try to simplify that whole process by taking the best of what’s available nationally and the national standards for cancer care and the local sources of care and putting those together in one place.”
CORE has partnered with most of Georgia’s major health care providers and research centers to compile the information and keep it up to date.
CORE is a nonprofit organization originally funded by Georgia’s portion of the tobacco settlement. The website is www.georgiacore.org.
