Free Admission Saturday at State and Federal Parks
Admission is free tomorrow, Saturday, September 29, 2012, at every state and federal park in Georgia.
Kim Hatcher with the Georgia Department of Natural Resources says the state is trying to encourage people to use the parks and historic sites that are in their own backyards.
“We want people to realize that the state parks belong to them, and we need their support. And one way to give back to the community is to volunteer at the state parks. And one way we’re bringing people in to showcase what we have is free parking and free admission,” says Hatcher.
Most state parks will have volunteer projects running tomorrow if you want to pitch in.
You can find a list of those projects, as well as information on all Georgia state parks and historic sites, at www.georgiastateparks.org.
