Georgia Gas Prices Continue Downward Trend
We’ve had three consecutive weeks of paying a little less at the gas pump, and that trend isn’t over yet.
Georgia’s average price per gallon of regular gas is $3.58 this week — down three cents from last week.
The downward trend should continue for at least another week according to American Automobile Association (AAA) spokeswoman Jessica Brady. “Right now we’re seeing ample supply here in the region. We have gulf platforms and refineries up and running. And at the same time, we’re seeing demand numbers drop. “
That, as California sees record highs in gas prices of nearly $5 per gallon. Says Brady, “They have multiple refineries that are out right now that have contributed to their rise in prices, so that’s something that we don’t need to be too concerned with over here. It is something that is very centric to the California region.”
Nationally, consumption is at its lowest level since April.
