Early In-Person Voting Starts today

You don’t have to wait until November to cast your ballot in the general election. If for any reason you want to vote early you can do so in-person, starting Monday, October 16.

It’s called absentee ballot voting, and any registered voter is eligible. . Advance voting will go on for the next three weeks, ending the Friday before election day.  You’ll need to visit your county or municipality’s early voting site, fill out the application, and present one of six forms of a valid photo ID.   You’ll need to visit your county or municipality’s early voting site, fill out the application, and present a valid photo ID.  There are six forms of state or federally issued photo id that will work, including a free voter id card, a U.S. passport, military id, or Georgia driver’s license.  

Secretary of State Brian Kemp says he encourages early voting if that’s what people like to do, for people that have their mind made up on all the races and are content they’re not going to change their mind in the next couple of weeks. “It’s certainly an option for them. The counties really like the early voting  because it helps them kind of get those people voted and that’s one less person they have to worry about on election day.”
