Atlanta Sounds: Bar Mitzvah at The Temple
In the Jewish tradition, a Jewish boy automatically becomes a Bar Mitzvah when he reaches the age of 13, and a girl at the age of 12. Bar (or Bat) Mitzvah” literally means “son (daughter) of commandment”.
Bar and Bat Mitzvah candidates spend several months preparing for the ceremony by learning how to read and recite from the Jewish scriptures.
In this Atlanta Sounds, we meet 12-year-old Charlie Hirsch who is preparing for his Bar Mitzvah ceremony at The Temple.
