U.S. Energy Secretary: Nuclear Power Plant Vogtle an Example of ‘Fuel Diversity’

“Fuel diversity is something that I think that’s very important for the country; it’s happening here,” said Moniz. “For the country and even globally, the cost and schedule performance will be very important for the future trajectory of nuclear power.”

Moniz says it is no accident that this generation of nuclear plants is being built in the Southeast where the regulatory atmosphere is more friendly.

Moniz is in Atlanta to attend an energy policy forum at Georgia Tech.
