Atlanta Police Chief Rodney Bryant says public safety is the responsibility of the public and policing is one entity of that.
On Tuesday’s edition of “Closer Look,” Chief Bryant talked with program host Rose Scott about several topics, including community policy, the importance of investing in youth and creating other long-term solutions other than arrests to reduce crime.
During the conversation, Atlanta’s 25th police chief reflected on his 34-year career in law enforcement and what’s next for him as he prepares to retire.
It’s truly been a pleasure, an honor and a pleasure for me to be a son of the city of Atlanta and to be put in a place where I am charged with protecting all the people in the city of Atlanta, leading the agency that I grew up in,” said Bryant.
