Atlanta City Councilmember Liliana Bakhtiari says since taking office five months ago, she’s hosted about 10 townhalls, hearing directly from constituents.
“It’s about putting yourself in the shoes of everybody and every stakeholder in the community, not just the people who you agree with the most,” said Bakhtiari, a guest on Friday’s edition of “Closer Look.”
The District 5 newly elected official talked with program host Rose Scott about several topics, including maintaining an inclusive district, affordable housing and a resolution that would direct the Atlanta Police Department not to use city funds to investigate abortion-related crimes if Roe v. Wade is overturned.
