Report: Atlanta Hawks Owners To Sell 100 Percent Of Shares

All shares of the Atlanta Hawks are up for sale, according to a report from the Atlanta-Journal Constitution.

The paper reports the team’s three ownership groups have reached agreements to sell 100 percent of the team’s stakes, according to a person close to the situation.

The AJC reports the NBA has signed off on the agreement, and the team will officially hit the market next week.

Emails to the NBA and the Hawks for confirmation were not returned before airtime.

In October, Mayor Kasim Reed announced the Hawks were looking for a new owner after a racially charged email written by team owner Bruce Levenson surfaced.

Levenson announced in September his group would sell its majority stake in the team in light of that email.

Earlier this year, Forbes valued the Hawks at $425 million
