On the surface, legislation aimed at fighting child sex trafficking in Georgia sounds like a great idea … unless you’re part of the adult entertainment industry that would be levied a penalty fee of $5,000 or 1 percent of gross earnings. Victim advocates and other supporters of two measures in the state legislature, SR 7 and SB 8, say child sex trafficking often takes place in or around adult entertainment clubs. But Alan Begner, the attorney who represents several clubs, told “A Closer Look” he doesn’t believe there’s a connection between adult entertainment venues and child sex trafficking.
