On the Wednesday edition of “Closer Look,” British Consul General for the U.S. Southeast Rachel Galloway discusses the partnership between the United Kingdom and the U.S. following her recent appointment.
Galloway, along with her team, aims to mitigate environmental and socioeconomic issues in the southeastern United States by combatting climate change, expanding regional infrastructure and promoting clean energy usage through policy change and initiative.
Amid persisting global supply chain issues, Galloway says she strategizes with international partners to encourage sustainable demand and promote continued economic growth, while also promoting booming industries throughout southern states like Georgia.
Galloway will also continue work in minimizing coal power in favor of more sustainable, environmentally-conscious energy production methods such as wind power.
“I [have] a great team. My plan is that myself and the team will keep going out to the different states and [continue] taking different opportunities,” Galloway said. “The challenge is how to build relationships with people.”
