Community leaders in South Atlanta are working to make sure legacy residents thrive as their neighborhoods prepare for growth and development.

In the coming years, South Atlanta’s growth is expected to undergo a facelift through affordable housing projects and the creation of more transportation options through MARTA’s Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) and the expansion of the Atlanta Beltline.

On Thursday, after being held virtually for two years due to the COVID pandemic, “Coffee Conversations” returned.

The “Closer Look” team headed to Community Grounds Coffee Shop in South Atlanta.

Jeff Delp, the director of economic development at Focused Community Strategies (which operates Carver Market), District 1 Councilmember Jason Winston and Malcolm Benson, co-founder of Grape Roots, discuss several topics, including public safety, food equity, the importance of supporting small businesses and job creation for youth.
