WABE politics reporter explains bill that could ban ballot drop boxes in Georgia
The Georgia Senate Ethics committee voted Tuesday night to approve legislation that could potentially ban ballot drop boxes in Georgia and make changes to SB 202.
On Wednesday’s edition of “Closer Look,” WABE politics reporter Sam Gringlas spoke with Rose Scott about the two newly proposed bills and the likelihood of them passing through the legislature.
Gringlas also provided an update about the proposed so-called “Don’t Say Gay” legislation. The measure, introduced by Republican Sen. Carden Summers, aims to limit the way teachers and other school staff discuss a student’s sexual orientation or gender identity without having parental consent. The bill failed to advance during a vote on Wednesday afternoon.
