Enough” is the newly published memoir by the superb pianist Stephen Hough. As one might expect from this extraordinary musician, composer, writer, poet, and painter, “Enough” is not a conventional autobiography but rather scenes of childhood, as it’s subtitled.

In this interview, composer Sir Stephen Hough spoke with “City Lights” host Lois Reitzes about his book, his life and his upcoming Spivey Hall recital.

“I really came from a not very wealthy background. I didn’t have all these opportunities, so I’d just like to say to parents and enthusiastic young people, don’t give up,” Hough said.

Sir Stephen Hough performs at Spivey Hall tomorrow, Saturday, April 1, and more information is available here.
