Families First CEO on the organization’s work to build resilient families
Paula Moody, the CEO of Families First, says the opioid crisis has had a huge impact on children and families in Georgia.
“It just causes so much trauma in a family’s life,” said Moody. “As we all know, we’re looking at families being separated, mostly due to neglect because of the addiction–children going into foster care—children having multiple placements, not being able to complete their education.”
On Wednesday’s edition of “Closer Look,” Moody told show host Rose Scott many local families are having to navigate complex challenges and Families First is working to effectively respond to community needs.
“Our vision is that all children and families are resilient and they’re able to achieve their fullest potential,” said Moody.
During the conversation, Moody also discussed the ongoing challenges with adoption and Georgia’s foster care system.
