With the return of spring, Atlanta is getting its groove back on at  Callanwolde Arts Center’s Spring Concert series. After two previous years of sold-out shows at  Callanwolde, back this year for another banger of a set are Ruby Velle and the Soulphonics, one of Atlanta’s musical gems.

They’ll perform a blend of soul, funk, folk and R&B at the  Callanwolde outdoor amphitheater on April 28, where picnic supplies and beverages are welcome to concertgoers enjoying the music.

Ruby Velle joined “City Lights” host Lois Reitzes to discuss the concert and her recent projects.

“Going with the flow allows you to not feel like you have to do it all and maybe it edges you more into the best creations of your life,” Velle said.

The band performs this Friday, April 28, at the Callanwolde Arts Center; more information is available here.
