Black Enterprise to host Disruptor Summit in Atlanta
One of the biggest hurdles many entrepreneurs face is access to capital.
According to the latest data from Crunchbase, Black entrepreneurs typically receive less than 2% of all venture capital dollars each year. That number is even lower for companies led by Black women. They receive less than 1%.
While capital plays a huge role in the success of any business, entrepreneurs need other tools and resources to grow their business.
On Tuesday’s edition of “Closer Look,” Alfred Edmond Jr., Black Enterprise’s senior vice president and executive editor, talked about the many challenges that Black entrepreneurs, founders and creatives face in the aftermath of the height of the pandemic and how Black Enterprise is hoping to help business innovators level up through resources, tools and education at Black Enterprise’s upcoming Disruptor Summit.
“The most successful entrepreneurs learn from their previous businesses, and they build that experience into their big business that they are celebrated for,” said Edmond.
The inaugural summit being held in Atlanta on June 2-4 will feature a $15,000 pitch competition.
