Atlanta Music Project's Amp Summer Series selects cellist Sterling Elliot as Artist in Residence
The Atlanta Music Project has been cultivating talent and promoting music education in underserved communities for the last 13 years. And one of their biggest annual programs is the Amp Summer Series, bringing in guest artists in residency to mentor and perform alongside gifted young musicians.
This year, the dynamic award-winning cellist Sterling Elliott has been announced as the Amp Summer Series Artist in Residence. In this interview, “City Lights” host Lois Reitzes speaks with Atlanta Music Project co-founder and CEO Dantes Rameau and cellist Sterling Elliott about the series.
“When my mom was pregnant with me, she decided I was going to fill the last position in the quartet as the cellist; she went to the store and picked out a cello before I was even out in the world,” Elliott said.
