After roughly 15 hours of public comment, Tuesday morning, in an 11-to-4 vote Atlanta City Council members voted to fund the proposed Atlanta Public Safety Training Center.
Councilmembers Keisha Sean Waites, Liliana Bakhtiari, Jason S. Dozier and Antonio Lewis voted not to fund the $90 million project.
The council members who voted in favor agreed to a transfer of $30 million to the Atlanta Police Foundation for the construction of the facility and $1 million for a gym, though the full cost could be much higher.
