The Atlanta City Council recently voted to change the penalties for parents or guardians of children who violate the city’s curfew.
The city’s current curfew is 11 pm on weekdays and midnight on weekends for children who are 16 and younger. Council members are encouraging parents to know where their child/children are by 9 pm.
On Tuesday, under the new resolution, council members removed penalties of jail time and $1,000 fines for parents if their child violates curfew.
