The Atlanta BeltLine is one of our city’s most distinctive treasures. Art along the 22-mile looping trail offers visitors and locals an uplifting and beautiful free of charge as visitors see works by Atlanta’s best and brightest.
Art on the Atlanta Beltline is the largest public outdoor art installation in the Southeast. This summer, BeltLine Walls will feature three new murals along the BeltLine trail.
In this interview, “City Lights” host Lois Reitzes spoke with Miranda Kyle, arts and culture program manager for the BeltLine, and BeltLine Walls muralist Aysha Pennerman, to talk more about this year’s art expansion.
“I didn’t even know that a public artist was a profession that I could do, especially a Black woman like me,” Pennerman said. “I had never seen someone that looked like me painting something that’s bigger than myself.”
