Caroline Rhea may be best known for her role as Aunt Hilda on the 90s sitcom “Sabrina the Teenage Witch,” but she’s built her career in stand-up clubs.

In fact, as Caroline Rhea told Lois Reitzes on “City Lights,” this is her 28th year as a touring comedian.

That doesn’t mean she’s given up acting. Her latest film, “A Very Sordid Wedding,” is out now in limited release and will premiere at the Out on Film Festival later this month. “A Very Sordid Wedding” builds on the characters and stories Del Shores created in the play-turned movie-turned TV series, “Sordid Lives.”

Rhea explained that the new movie is about what happens in small town in Texas when marriage equality passes nationwide: “It’s a love letter to the LGBTQ community.”

Caroline Rhea performs at The Punchline on Friday and Saturday night.
