An iconoclast is defined as someone who attacks settled beliefs or institutions. It comes from the Greek word eikonoklastēs, meaning “image destroyer.”
In Marryam Moma’s new exhibit of the same name, “ICONoclasts,” she too focuses on the disrupters and challengers of the status quo…hoping to create conversations around identity, race and gender.
The exhibit is on view at the Emma Darnell Aviation Museum & Conference Center through September 8th. In this interview, “City Lights” producer Summer Evans speaks with artist Marryam Moma about the exhibit.
