'LatinX Voices' art exhibit explores themes of identity at Reeves House Visual Arts Center
Hispanic Heritage Month begins today. It is a time to highlight the contributions of LatinX Americans to our national discourse, our food, industries, music, art and literature.
Reeves House Visual Arts Center in Woodstock is joining the celebration with a new exhibition, “LatinX Voices.” featuring works by artists from all over the United States, exploring themes of identity, history, immigration and social justice.
The show is on view through Oct. 8. In this interview, “City Lights” host Lois Reitzes speaks with Reeves House curator and director Nicole Lampl along with co-curator and artist Haydee Alonso, whose work is part of the exhibition.
“Our main goal is to spark conversation and dialog and encourage people to have conversations that they may otherwise have not,” Lampl said.
