After almost three years, the Atlanta BeltLine’s Westside Trail officially opens today.
The 3-mile stretch of concrete from Washington Park to Adair Park marks the second completed section of the BeltLine. The Eastside Trail was the first.
“This is the largest investment in Southwest Atlanta since MARTA. This is a $43 million project,” said Clyde Higgs, the BeltLine’s chief operating officer. “No one else in the county is doing anything like this. And so, this is incredible the city came together to make this happen.”
Higgs said the Southside Trail is next, once they finish the design and find the money.
