John Waters is a self-described outsider, best known for his loving celebration of camp and kitsch in films like “Hairspray” and “Pink Flamingos.” But the key to his creative process, as it turns out, is photography.
John Waters will give a talk at the Woodruff Arts Center tonight, presented by Atlanta Celebrates Photography. He spoke with “City Lights” host Lois Reitzes about how he uses photography as a writing tool.
Waters also discussed his 2015 commencement speech at the Rhode Island School of Design.
That speech has taken on a life of its own, transcribed and illustrated in a book called “Make Trouble,” as well as a record of Waters reading the address.
