#3. Earlier this week, City Schools of Decatur announced that $88,000 in student lunch debt was eliminated through a corporate foundation grant after a viral campaign on this platform brought attention to the high student fees.

The issue of student lunch debt in the city came to the attention of local parent Jasmine Crowe-Houston after seeing a tweet from the Dekalb-based online publication Decaturish. She launched a GoFundMe campaign to help erase the collected debt, which exceeded its goal of $86,000 in 48 hours.

City Schools of Decatur announced that the funds raised by Crowe-Houston and her donors, though appreciated, would not be accepted.

#4. On Thursday, The Atlanta Falcons officially named Raheem Morris as their new head coach, a former defensive coordinator for which NFL team?

It’s the Los Angeles Rams.

On top of his history with the Rams, the 47-year-old Morris is a familiar name in Atlanta, having served as the Falcons’ interim head coach for the final 11 games of the 2020 season after the firing of Dan Quinn. He previously coached the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for three seasons.

Morris was hired by the Falcons after 14 candidates were interviewed.

#5. On Monday, a judge unsealed the divorce proceedings of special prosecutor Nathan Wade after this Georgia election interference case defendant alleged an improper relationship between Wade and Fulton D.A. Fani Willis.

Roman, along with a coalition of media outlets, fought to unseal all of the filings in the ongoing divorce case after Roman’s lawyer, Ashleigh Merchant, argued they would help prove the unsubstantiated relationship.
