The Downtown Connector shuts down at 3:30 p.m. Friday as Vice President Mike Pence lands at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport. The connector will reopen at 4 p.m.
Pence is scheduled to speak at the Loews Hotel in Midtown about the tax bill that was passed in December.
He’s expected to be joined by Gov. Nathan Deal and a handful of other GOP elected representatives to laud the $1.3 trillion tax cut legislation.
Pence will then go to the Atlanta Hilton hotel downtown to headline the GOP’s annual fundraising Presidents’ Day Dinner. Patrons pay between $200 for entry up to $50,000 to sit at the vice president’s table. It sold out this year.
Pence is expected to leave Atlanta shortly after dinner.
