Atlanta's Dance Canvas prepares diverse slate of artists for 2024 Annual Performance Series
Dance Canvas, Atlanta’s community laboratory for developing dancers and choreographers, celebrated its 15th anniversary last year. It also selected and prepared a diverse slate of feature choreographers, dancers and filmmakers for the 2024 Annual Performance Series, revealing new works at the Ferst Center for the Arts at GSU on March 22 and 23.
The series will premiere performances by seven local and visiting dance artists, as well as five new film projects, all made possible through career-catalyzing opportunities like Dance Canvas’s Choreographer Career Development Initiative.
In this interview, “City Lights” host Lois Reitzes is joined by founder and executive artistic director Angela Harris and featured Atlanta-based dancer and choreographer Dominique Kinsey to discuss the performance series.
