With the FIFA World Cup underway, the last thing that soccer’s top authorities might want to see is a documentary showing national federation officials or game referees taking money.

But that’s exactly what the BBC aired recently.

The documentary film, investigating soccer in Africa, is called  “Betraying the Game.” It was based on the work of investigative journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas, and it was produced by Insight TWI.

Jon Ossoff is the managing director and CEO of that firm. He is also the former Georgia Democratic candidate for U.S. Congress in last year’s closely watched 6th Congressional District special election, held just about a year ago.

He joined Denis O’Hayer on “Morning Edition” for a conversation about the film and his political career.
