Access to healthcare is a challenge for the 2,853 citizens of Clay County, Georgia. That’s one reason Dr. Karen Kinsell — the only doctor in Clay County — decided to open her practice, the Clay County Medical Center, in 1998.

Her ongoing effort to treat her community is the focus of “The Only Doctor,” a documentary that will premiere on WABE TV on May 14.

On Monday’s edition of “Closer Look,” host Rose Scott talks with Kinsell and film director Matthew Hashiguchi about the documentary and the state of healthcare in Clay County.
