The internet has been buzzing recently with stories of Atlanta-based Waffle House’s catering food truck. But the truck isn’t new.

In fact, it’s been around for the past five years.

Waffle House Director of Public Relations and External Affairs Pat Warner said he hasn’t sent out a press release to spur this media reportage. But the media attention it’s been receiving now has people gotten people excited again.

There is some news surrounding this that is worth sharing, however. Warner said that for the second year in a row, Waffle House is planning surprise appearances for the food truck in the Atlanta area during National Waffle Week Sept. 2-8. Last year the truck visited Georgia Tech and people were chasing it down the street, Warner said.

Warner says to keep in touch with Waffle House’s social media for clues and hints about where the food truck is going to be popping up. He said this could become a yearly tradition during National Waffle Week.

The food truck is available for private events only. Fees include a one-time $90 rental and additional $50 per hour along with the costs of dishes, cutlery, napkins, travel and other things, according to the information sheet. Once booked, the truck shows up complete with cooks to prepare Waffle House favorites.

If you want Waffle House to cater an event, you can make an inquiry here. The truck is in high demand, so Waffle House asks that you do so as soon as your the date of your event is confirmed. You can request the food truck for private events outside of Georgia, but you may have to pay extra lodging fees.
