Vice President Kamala Harris has picked Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz as her Democratic running mate.
Now that Harris has made her pick, Atlanta-based political strategist Fred Hicks returned to “Closer Look” to discuss how the selection will impact the election and how both major parties will try to win Georgia in November.
Hicks said the person she picks in a running mate signals an area where she feels the weakest in her campaign. Walz, Hicks added, indicates that she feels she needs to bolster her appeal to the progressive and youth vote. “She knows that the progressive and the younger voter is still very much in play,” he said on Tuesday’s edition of the show.
