Atlanta band 'The Illustrated' finds inspiration in eclectic places
On the “City Lights” series “Speaking of Music,” local musicians share their work and stories in their own voices. In today’s segment, we feature the Atlanta band The Illustrated.
The band’s front-runner and guitarist Jordan Martin describes their music as a combination between alternative rock and indie, but with elements of country and even occasionally shoegaze thrown into the mix.
The band’s lyricist and drummer, Paulo Duca, gets inspired by dissecting the songs that he loves the most – and then trying to place himself in the writer’s shoes.
“I really just like trying to come up with something that I haven’t before, or push myself to be a little left field of what I would normally go for,” said the musician.
