Each political party has a slate of 16 electors in Georgia (The number is different depending on the state). The electors get to cast their votes for their party’s candidate if the majority of the state’s residents vote for that candidate.
These electors make up the Electoral College, which has 538 electors across the nation. A presidential candidate must receive 270 electoral votes to win the White House.
#2. On Tuesday, the U.S. federal government announced that Georgia had been granted $65 million for which purpose?
It’s to improve rail.
Georgia will receive $65 million for three rail improvement projects as part of $2.4 billion national grant funding from the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law.
The U.S. Department of Transportation’s Federal Railroad Administration announced on Tuesday that the funding is meant to make the railways more sufficient and reliable, as well as lessen the amount of shipping costs and pollution.
#3. What percentage of active voters in Georgia had cast a ballot as of Thursday afternoon?
It’s 50%.
More than 3.6 million out of 7.2 million active Georgia voters had cast a ballot as of Thursday afternoon. Friday was the last day of early in-person voting, although some counties, like Gwinnett and Cobb, are opening absentee ballot drop-off hours over the weekend.

The Pathways to Coverage program offers Medicaid to low-income adults who otherwise don’t qualify for Medicaid. The participants must log 80 hours of eligible work, education or volunteering.
However, the Georgia Budget and Policy Institute published a new report that shows that too many eligible applicants are being rejected from participating. It found that the Pathways system, paperwork requirements and work-verification process were too cumbersome.

It’s former first lady Michelle Obama.
She appeared at the Gateway Center Arena in College Park on Tuesday night for a rally organized by the non-partisan When We All Vote organization to mobilize first-time voters.
