Young Georgia political organizers look past election to what comes next

Young voters turned out in a big and unexpected way in Georgia. More than a million votes were from those under 40, and nearly 380,000 of those came from voters 25 and younger.

After the polls closed Tuesday, but before the race was called for Donald Trump, two political organizers who are young voters themselves joined “All Things Considered” to talk about the election.

Parker Short, the immediate past president of the Young Democrats of Georgia and a current state committee member for the Democratic Party, and Jacqueline Harn, the chair of the Georgia Young Republicans, discussed whether they believe Gen Z could be the model for bringing a divided nation together.
